What is important?

Yesterday groups of divers and scientists tried to save a wale that had swam into the Thames up to London, unfortunately the wale died during the rescue attempt.

I find the story very sad and moving... but should it have been the #1 item on the news? Should all the 24hr news stations spent the entire day following the rescue boat? I honestly don't think so, I am sure there must have been far more important things going on in the world. The story was news worthy yes, but not to dominate the British news.

I think it is time for the public and the press to have a reality check. Why does the news get completely dominated by one story when there is so much else going on in the world. Posted by Picasa

Welcome back Shelly.

Maybe there just wasn't enough other news out there? Sometimes it happens.
